Glowie App
A Vietnam-based talent content platform for young talented people to show off their talents through contests.

Glowie App - The first social entertainment talent contests mobile app with definitive gamification in Vietnam, which also serves as an innovative solution-based digital marketing platform. I worked with Product team and Relia DEV team to define user requirements and design goals, creating wireframes and user interfaces for mobile app and web, focusing on usability and brand identity.

Fastest growing social media platforms in Vietnam after the launch
Target Users
The predecessor of Glowie App comes from an offline contest in 2019 at Ho Chi Minh City called OK Sing - where talented contestants show their amazing singing voices and receive valuable rewards. After that, with the COVID-19 distancing, Glowie App was launch to create a vibrant digital playground - keeping OK Sing's contestants continue to engage and discover new talents along the way.
The audience of Glowie App is diverse, ranging from 18 to 50 years old, and includes all genders. These users share a passion for arts-related hobbies such as singing, dancing, fashion, painting, and acting, and are eager to showcase their talents through competitions. They are active social media users, engaging with online communities regularly, and seek a vibrant, reliable, and authentic platform to express themselves. Glowie App appeals to those who not only want to share their creativity but also desire the opportunity to receive valuable prizes and recognition for their skills, fostering a sense of accomplishment and connection within a supportive community.

Creating In-app Illustrations
for new look of Profile
While I and the team working on improving UI of Profile feature, one of my main tasks was creating in-app illustrations for empty states. No more boring gray icons only, it was time for a new fresh look, maintaining the youthful entertaining vibe while aligning with brand's color system, boosted CTA clicks and user journey in app.

Improving Contest feature
To enhance usability, I optimized the contest page by adding a gender-inclusive filter, improving content hierarchy, and streamlining the layout. Key updates include a dropdown filter for broader participation, repositioning contest details for better visibility, and displaying top winners horizontally to reduce scrolling. These improvements make the contest experience more intuitive and engaging.

Creating In-app Tutorial
- New Features
These in-app tutorials introduce users to new features of the Glowie App through clear, visual guidance across three core pages. On the Popular Page, users learn how to search for contests, view contestants, and explore live performances. The Community Page highlights talent categories, top users, and livestream access, encouraging users to join and invite friends. Lastly, the Task List Page walks users through daily goals, level progression, and rewards, helping them stay engaged and motivated to interact within the app. Each step is annotated with helpful prompts to ensure a smooth and easy-to-go experience.

Designing Badge Collection
for Community feature
In the task, I designed a vibrant badge collection to enhance community engagement. With 6 distinct communities - Music, Acting, Fashion, Dancing, Art, and Others - each user can earn badges across six progressive levels. These badges visually represent achievements, encouraging participation and rewarding dedication.
Integrated seamlessly into the UI, badges appear in multiple touchpoints: user profiles showcasing earned badges, and interactive pop-ups celebrating level milestones. This gamified approach ensures users feel recognized and motivated as they advance within their communities.

User Flow
Our Product Team developed a user journey with all the necessary features for entertaining contests to take place in cyberspace in a simple and easy-to-understand way (showing ongoing competitions, top contestants and rankings, livestreaming). At the same time, there are basic features of a social mobile app such as creating a personal account, logging in/out, chatting, interacting with posts and other users, and creating teams.
